Holiday Shopping the Techman Way

This year I got off to rather rocky holiday shopping start. Meaning that I did not get started until december 23. Luckily this year the wife was able to send me her wish list via email from from her smart phone, something that prior to this year she refused to have. This not only helped me complete the wish list for her, but also aid in the shopping for the rather large number of people that are coming to home for the holiday meal. With the addition of her smart phone we were able to send pictures back and forth to each other in order to confirm what items were still needed for the holiday meal. Thus we have learned that shopping can be completed in less time then in previous years even when there is more to be accomplished.

Thanksgiving 2010

It's that time of year again where we in the US take a day off to give thanks and remember the good things that have happened over the past year. This year not only would I like to note the people and opportunities over the past year that I'm thankful for, but those who have given their lives in the service of our nation. I'm thankful for the service men and women who are willing to leave their families in order to service and protect this nation and the founding principals of our Constitution. I'm thankful for the ability to provide for my own family, the friends, co-workers, and mentors that I have had in my life. I'm thankful for my loving wife who loves and supports me through thick and thin. I'm thankful for my parents who have always been there supporting me through life. I'm thankful for wife's family. I'm thankful for all of the experiences of the past year from which I have learned and gained knowledge and hopefully some wisdom.

Please take the time today to let those in your life know that you are thankful for them, and ask them to do the same. It might just make the world a better place.
